EditWhy lower levels of education?
According to a piece in The Guardian [1], jobs that are on some level routine, repetitive and predictable are most easily done by a machine. For example manual labour in manufacturing but also jobs in telemarketing or even cooking (specifically fast food) are very prone to be replaced by a robot.
Other jobs will simply change, leaving the menial tasks to machines, requiring humans to aquire new, higher-level skillsets for their jobs or risk unemployment. Therefore workers with a low level of education are at a higher risk of being replaced by automation.
The Luddite Fallacy [2] states that technological advancement does not destroy jobs - it only changes the composition of jobs in the economy. New technologies create new jobs with higher-level skills and a general rise in income.
