We will use the October 2023 futures contract. If it expires before the due date we will use November 2023 futures.

We will use the prior settled last price on  to expire the contract. This is available on the CME page, https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/crude-oil/light-sweet-crude_quotes_globex.html

Oil futures trade 6pm-5pm ET (e.g. opens at 6pm and closes at 5pm, having a one hour break),

We will use the LAST listed on the expiry source for contracts,
