At a press conference on March 16th, 2025, an interdisciplinary team of researchers claimed a groundbreaking discovery beneath Egypt’s Giza Plateau: a vast complex of underground chambers and shafts extending nearly two kilometers under the famous pyramids.[1]

This begs the question why this extraordinary claim has not been confirmed by actual excavation and whether it is a hoax.
