Predict which movie will have the most attendance for its opening weekend from the 11th to the 13th May 2018. Attendance outside of this timeframe is not counted.

The Outcome vs. the Prediction

To the left is a chart plotting the predicted ranking of the new movie vs. the actual rank of new entries according to FIlminstitut.

It shows that our small classroom sample of FH VIenna was sufficient to produce a nice correlation between prediction and outcome. There must have been some knowledge present, as some students are likely to be movie goers. Of course, for a commercial-grade forecast in a real-life project, you'd need to recruit a reasonable number of actual movie goers.
